This production used a 3d world to ground and explore shot compositions. This ensured easy iteration, proper scaling of the characters, as well as reference for the 3D assets of the movie.
Subtle yet simple acting and 2D/3D integration
Our acting choices had to be subtle to support the mood, however the lack of words spoken by the characters meant we still had to keep the acting simple and clear.
Additionally 2D fx animation and paintovers were used to marry the mediums of 2D and 3D together.
